Manufacturing process of molten copper graphite crucible

In the forging and smelting of copper and alloy copper, copper molten graphite crucible is widely used as a heat resistance equipment. Because of the large copper ratio of alloy, its compressive strength is lower than aluminum castings and magnesium castings, and has high corrosion resistance and good wear resistance, so it is often used to forge parts with high corrosion resistance.

Copper graphite crucible must withstand high temperature for a long time, continuously and uninterrupted in the application, and is very sensitive in the application. Therefore, the length of the application time is directly related to the natural environment of the application and the actual operation of the processing process. In order to increase the application time, what people must do is to improve the application and processing technology, and do a good job of maintenance.

The following are the ways to maintain the copper-graphite crucible: 1. When adding materials, the copper material should be added vertically and slowly along the inner cavity of the molten copper graphite crucible, to avoid the metal material collision or the crucible extrusion molding. The slag remover should not be placed into an empty crucible or liquid metal material, and should be added appropriately after the metal material is completely melted.

2. After work every day, please burn the molten copper graphite crucible to red, so as to facilitate the removal of metal substances in the cavity, prevent excessive dregs from endangering the heat transfer performance and melting time of the crucible, and expanding and rupture due to thermal deformation.

3. After the power failure or furnace shutdown for a long time, all the metal materials in the crucible should be prepared to prevent the damage from the increase of metal materials when the furnace is opened.

4. Because the molten copper-graphite crucible is a ceramic product, there are the necessary number of air vent in the raw material, and the crucible wall is easily susceptible to moisture. For flame or furnace applications, heating is necessary to ensure no moisture remains in the crucible wall. In the first application, the copper-graphite crucible was heated to 130-150℃ and insulated for half an hour, without standard addition. Because the crucible wall is rapidly oxidized by air in the temperature range of 3.15-700 degrees, it cannot be heated in this temperature range and does not need to stay for too long in this temperature range.

5. After the crucible of melting copper and graphite is heated, the actual operator must quickly heat up to 900-960 degrees without feeding, and keep warm for 30 minutes, and then drop to all the normal use temperature, and then add materials. The longer the residence time in the temperature range of 3.15-700℃, the easier the crucible raw material is to be oxidized by air. Air oxidation will not only reduce the service life of molten copper graphite crucible, but also endanger its performance index due to the reduction of thermal conductivity.
